I got this dictionary the other day, and I've only glanced through it, but I can tell it is one of the best ones to have.
How about the word for those curved wooden beams that form the "ribs" of a ship? Turn to: ship, curved timbers forming rib of: futtock
Then look at the nearby listing of other sailing terms to find the names of other parts of the ship, as well as words for the different types of ships: ship rear: abaft, aft, astern, stern ship, submersible: bathyscape, submarine[/ul] It couldn't be simpler or more convenient. Flip Dictionary is a complete, practical reference for business and home use, writers of fiction and nonfiction, students, crossword puzzlers and word lovers. It's an indispensable desk reference--as necessary as a dictionary or a thesaurus, but a whole lot more fun!
